Christkindlmarkt - Floating Volunteer
Perhaps one of the most crucial volunteers at Christkindlmarkt is the Floating Volunteer! Floaters will be assigned a position that is in need when they arrive. If all positions are covered, they will help cover breaks!
Attire: Volunteers may wear any festive attire, as long as they do not contain any inapproriate language or images. Please note that while the tents at CKM are heated, volunteers will often travel between tents, so please dress appropriately. Long pants, scarves, gloves, and jackets are recommended. A coat rack will be available near the information desk.
Check In: Please check in with the Site Supervisor at the information booth. The information booth can be located at the far end of the main tent. When you arrive the Site Supervisor will walk you through your assigned responsibilities and get you ready for your shift!
Parking: Parking for Volunteers will be available in the paved lots across the street from the event, known as RW and RE. Handicapped parking is available in all lots. Please remember that the Event Staff is available to walk you to your car at the end of the evening, if requested.
Potential Positions:
Admissions Assistants
Admissions Assistants will work alongside Box Office staff members to sell admission tickets to customers. Volunteers will be trained on how to use our POS systems on site and will provide friendly customer service to our guests. Volunteers should be comfortable handing cash and processing credit/debit card transactions.
Booth Attendants
Christkindlmarkt has over 100 amazing, one-of-a-kind vendors that sell unique holiday items. Sometimes, these vendors need a break and that is where Booth Attendants come in! Booth Attendants will introduce themselves to crafters and then cover their booth for a moment while the crafter takes a break. Volunteers at this position will not be responsible for conducting any sales for the vendor, they will merely watch the space until the vendor returns.
Information/Customer Service Assistants
Information/Customer Service Assistants will be located at the information booth and will work alongside Volunteer Department staff to distribute marketing materials and answer any questions guests may have about the festival. Customer Service Assistants may also help with ticket taking and hand stamping during shifts with a high volume of patrons. Amazing customer service skills are a must!
Front of House Assistants
Front of House Assistants will help staff with a variety of tasks including, taking tickets from group tours or will call patrons, recording ticket sales, handing out marketing materials at the entrance to the main tent, directing guests to the admissions area, assisting staff at the information booth, and more.
Retail Assistants
Calling all experienced retail members! Or just people who love working with our amazing retail staff! Retail Assistants will assist ArtsQuest staff members at the main merchandise area located inside the first tent. Retail Assistants will help guests find the perfect item, bag and box gifts, assist with inventory, and other tasks as assigned.
