Reception Desk Volunteer
The ideal availability of this position is 2-4 hours midday Monday-Friday, and may expand if needed.
Reception desk team members will:
- Monitor cameras and buzz visitors into the building
- Greet visitors in a courteous manner
- Notify other team members of their visitors
- Answer the telephone, determine caller needs, and direct calls to the appropriate person or department when necessary
- Accept packages and mail
- Printing and Faxing
- Maintain appointment schedules
- Assist with other office duties as needed.
- Plate books for our Book Nook Program
Skills and Qualifications
- Verbal and written communication skills to interact clearly with visitors, vendors and other employees
- Organization skills to keep accurate records and find important information quickly
- Time management skills to prioritize and complete a side variety of tasks throughout the day
- Patience and listening skills to respond appropriate and interact positively with upset visitors
- Interpersonal skills to create a pleasant experience for all customers, such as being personable and attentive
