MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU)
This agreement outlines our shared commitment to Intern Impact Day 2025, where interns from local businesses will engage in hands-on service projects with local area nonprofits, coordinated and managed by Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley. The date of service will be June 13, 2025.
This agreement is entered into on this ___ day of ___________ (month, year), by and between:
1. Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley, hereinafter referred to as “VCLV”
and
2. ___________________________________________ (YOUR ORGANIZATION) hereinafter referred to as “Participating Business.”
Collectively referred to as “the Parties.”

1. Purpose
The purpose of this Agreement is to outline the expectations and agreement between Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley and _____________________________ Participating Business for Intern Impact Day 2025.
2. Scope of Work
Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley will:
• Identify and coordinate a volunteer project with local nonprofit organizations suitable for the Participating Business’ interns.
• Communicate with Participating Business regarding the volunteer project details, including location, date, time and nature of the volunteer work.
• Communicate with Participating Business regarding weather cancellations 24 to 48 hours in advance. See more details about weather dependency below.
Participating Business agrees to:
• Provide VCLV with a preliminary number of interns who will participate in the volunteer project upon sign up.
• Provide VCLV with the final number of interns who will participate in the volunteer project by April 30, 2025.
• Provide financial support to VCLV for the overall management and execution of Intern Impact Day. Sponsorships can range from $1,000 to $5,000. The sponsorship will cover the coordination and administrative costs of managing the logistics and details for the group volunteer project(s). Sponsorship commitments should be made by April 30, 2025. * For organizations who support VCLV through a grant, please select that option as the payment type on the registration form.
• Ensure that all participating interns are prepared and available on the scheduled date of the volunteer project.
• Allow their interns to volunteer as a group alongside other volunteers from different companies as part of a larger group effort coordinated by VCLV.
3. Project Details
• Project Date: June 13, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Participating organizations are encouraged to meet at CocaCola Park at 8:15 AM for a pre-service day rally and to collect their team T-shirts and lunches (if available). Projects will start at 9:00 AM on site at the nonprofit organization.
• Weather Dependency: Volunteer Center will work with nonprofits to have “back-up indoor plans” in case of inclement weather. If the volunteer project is scheduled outdoors and the nonprofit cannot accommodate indoor projects, VCLV will endeavor to have alternative projects with other nonprofit organizations available, however we cannot guarantee rain-date projects. If the Participating organizations want to reschedule the project, they can coordinate directly with the nonprofit. Rescheduling is up to the Participating Business and the nonprofit, with VCLV providing support as needed.
4. Non-binding Agreement
This MOU is intended as a statement of understanding between the Parties and does not create any legally binding obligations beyond those expressly stated herein.
