Regional Nonprofit Capacity Building Report
Humanitarian Social Innovations and the Volunteer Center of Lehigh Valley, through the support of the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation, set out to understand the capacity building system for nonprofits in the Lehigh Valley. A six-month fact-finding phase of this Regional Coordinated Nonprofit Capacity Building Project launched in September 2021. Its goal was to assess the structure, gaps, and inherent power dynamics in the region’s nonprofit capacity building landscape, particularly in light of the ongoing pandemic and through the lenses of equity and inclusion. The data collected through interviews, surveys, focus groups, and primary research will inform a road map for a centralized, coordinated, and equitable approach to building nonprofit capacity in the region.
