Food Pantry Assistant
HCLV's Food Pantry Program
HCLV's Food Pantry seeks hardworking volunteers to assist with donation deliveries to the Center. HCLV receives a donation every Friday and a delivery on the third Thursday of every month. Volunteers are welcomed to meet HCLV's staff at the Center for an introduction and then drive to Sam's Club on Airport Rd. in Allentown if needed. Volunteers would load the van at Sam's, unload donation at the Center, count and record quantities of donation, and organize food on shelves so it is ready for distribution.
On the third Thursday of every month, the Center receives a delivery from Second Harvest Food Bank. Volunteers would bring delivered boxes to the Food Pantry and organize the food on shelves.
This is a great opportunity for groups to volunteer together!
- Volunteer must be able to lift 25-30 pound boxes of food and willing to spend 2-3 hours working hard.
- Volunteering can be one-time or ongoing.
